Yorkshire Wedding Photographer Tom Roberts, of CHAMPAGNE SHUTTER PHOTOGRAPHY, at Saltmarshe Hall
Wedding planning should be an adventure to be enjoyed and if you choose Saltmarshe Hall, Howden, near Goole, it certainly feels this way as you thread the car down roads that weave through reeds, bulrushes and embankments alongside the Ouse.
This Yorkshire country house wedding venue oozes grandeur and elegance even as you drive up. Immediately, this photographer’s eye loves the sandy golden colour of the ashlar dressed stonework.
It really feels like you’ve hit upon a hidden away gem – an end-of-route destination you wouldn’t simply stumble upon, with a luxury that is way more than a ‘bolt-hole.’ An exclusivity like you’ve got to have been in-on-the-secret! There’s a feeling of intimacy despite its scale.
Nor does this make for an issue with guests either – there are 14 luxurious suites and rooms in the main building, with a further self-contained converted stables on site, comprising 3 double bedrooms and kitchen, as well as a 2-bedroom cottage too. No end of choice to have everyone on site! Saltmarshe Hall really will be your own!
Choose the Yorkshire Suite as your bridal suite and the glamour continues…
We can have all sort of fun with the beautiful soft light falling on this roll top bathtub, from fun poses, if that’s your vibe, to a few glamour and fashion styled shots too.
The large Georgian windows cast soft flattering light for elegant prep portraits.
The choices for stunning wedding photography seem endless at Saltmarshe Hall. Although photographers wouldn’t say it, not every venue is like this!
There is an abundance of choice for ceremony and celebration options too.
Ceremony space design by All Occasions Florists of Howden
Besides the indoor ceremony space, you have the bar and library.
Nothing epitomises the beauty and flexibility of Saltmarshe Hall more than the library. This elegant blue toned space will be superb for canapes, cocktails, coffee, but also opens out onto one of the two terraces for outdoor partying, before winding either back into the bar, or on to the covered area, which could be your choice for outdoor wedding breakfast dining.
It's all a wedding planning dream for the engaged couple!

The covered terrace can be your choice for heated outdoor wedding breakfast dining, safe from concern about rain.
You can choose ceremony spaces including the tree-lined avenue or walled garden.
The extensive walled gardens include pond, pool, and flower beds galore for beautiful portraits of the two of you, as well as guests during the evening reception.

Saltmarshe’s current building is a Grade II listed Georgian Hall, bought and renovated 12 years ago by the current owners, only the third family to own it across 900 years of history, having remained under the same family’s ownership from 1067 to the 1970s.
